My Story

Award-winning author Jessica Lee Sheppard lives in rural Ontario with her husband and four children. Her debut novel, “The Adventures of Izzy Adams: Descending into Darkness," draws inspiration from her daughters, Izzy and Rhylynn. Jessica graduated with a degree in Psychology from York University and then obtained a Social Services Worker diploma from Loyalist College. She then went on to obtain a Master’s in Social Work from Windsor University. Her diverse experiences spanning mental health, child welfare, and education infuse her stories with depth and understanding.  

When she’s not writing, Jessica enjoys gardening, reading, and binge-watching television shows she’s put aside in order to write. Aside from establishing a successful writing career, Jessica dreams of watching her children grow into happy adults, and of one day travelling to Greece.

At the age of four, under the guidance of her father, Jessica was introduced to the literary realm through Archie Comics. Even before she could fully comprehend the text, she would immerse herself, constructing imagined conversations amongst the characters. As Jessica grew older, her taste evolved, gravitating towards supernatural stories. Today, she counts Kelley Armstrong, Charlaine Harris, J.K. Rowling, Cassandra Clare, and Shannon Mayer among her favourite authors.
